The tour bus traveling from Istanbul on route to North Macedonia, which crashed in western Bulgaria causing the tragic death of 45 passengers, was driving without a license or and was operating illegally.
Euronews Albania correspondent, Ferikan Iljazi reported from Skopje that during its transit in customs, this bus hadn’t been registered and this has led to two customs employees being dismissed.
North Macedonia’s minister of transport has found several other violations made by the company owning the tour bus, ‘Besa Trans’ which have been reported to Bulgarian authorities for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the process of identification for the bodies of passengers in Bulgaria is underway and they will be sent back to their families in North Macedonia for their final place of rest.
45 citizens, the majority of whom Albanian, lost their lives on November 23 in an accident that is thought to have been caused by an extra fuel tank carrying cheap illegal Turkish diesel that caught fire and ended up burning the victims alive.
Only 7 people were able to survive by escaping from the back of the bus.
