Editor-in-chief of ‘Gazeta Shqiptare’, Erl Murati, said during tonight’s ‘Now’ with Erla Mehilli that the personal issues between Basha and Berisha won’t be able to determinately hurt the Democratic Party.
According to Murati, the ideological debate on the current state of the right in Albania, can’t be linked to the war between Basha and Berisha, because no matter who wins after this face-off, it will be a lost cause for both of them.
“There won’t be a winner if both lock horns. If Berisha terminates Basha on December 11, this will be followed by the local elections and it will be difficult for DP to come out victorious in these polls. And even if Basha terminates Berisha, the situation will stay the same,” – said Murati.
In any case, Murati called the internal debates taking place within DP, something positive especially based on the state this party finds itself in after years in opposition. However, he added that the best thing would be for the majority in this confrontation, to create a separate party rather than stay within DP and be an opposition to the opposition.
