More than half of Albanian citizens (55.2%) believe the murders continue to be the most concerning crime plaguing the country. An overwhelming majority of Albanian citizens participating in Euronews Albania’s Barometer poll, picked out murder from all other crimes, as their most major cause for concern.

Physical violence came in second, but three times fewer citizens picked this category (12.8%) as their main concern when it comes to personal safety.

It seems that citizens don’t look at drug trafficking as a major concern – only around 11% consider it a prominent cause for concern in their country.

Nearly 1 in 4 Albanians reported being afraid of the possibility of being a victim of physical injury or violent assault with a firearm as their second most prominent concern.

Euronews Albania’s poll in collaboration with MRB and Data Centrum included 1.000 in-person interviews conducted at a national level during a timespan ranging from November 20-30, 2021.
