Today marks the 109^th anniversary of the creation of the Armed Forces in Albania.

Armed Forces (FA) were created on December 4, 1912 – a few days after the creation of the Albanian state in Vlore.

The creation of these Armed Forces came as a result of a need and a natural progression of a sovereign state, that had to protect its borders from outer threats.

Nowadays, being part of NATO has given the FA, the chance to extend its mission in several other countries around the world, as was the case in Afghanistan.
