The remains of 25 citizens discovered in mass graves in Serbia were handed over to their families after more than 2 decades. This year another 21 cases were identified, reported local media KosovaPress.
Meanwhile, the fate of over 1,600 missing people from the war remains unknown. Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared that a final deal with Serbia will not be possible, without solving this issue first,
On the International Day of Human Rights, the government committee on missing people posted a video showing the work done in trying to find out what happened to those people.
For Kurti, the ones who suffered the most are missing today and their families.
Kosovo’s premier also reiterated that the issue is a top priority of his government.
“Personally, I’ve been very vocal about this. In every meeting with international actors, I’ve raised the issue of missing people, as a matter of utmost priority. I hereby repeat that there will be no agreement with Serbia without solving the missing people dispute”.
