North Macedonia’s foreign affairs minister Bujar Osmani announced that in the upcoming days they will appoint an ambassador to Bulgaria.

According to him, the fact that Skopje does not have a diplomatic presence in the neighboring country since 2020 is a mistake.

Meanwhile, the two governments have mounted efforts to reproach their stances and find a way out of the deadlock.

A solution would result in Bulgaria lifting the veto on North Macedonia and pave the way to the country’s accession talks.

A few days ago, Bulgarian prime minister Kiril Petkov was on an official visit to Skopje, where among others discussed with state leaders on the veto.

Petkov declared that he expects swift results following the new approach in the dialogue with Skopje.
