Citizens gathered at the border crossing of Morine this morning to protest against the new measures and travel rules put in place recently by the government of Kosovo.

Dozens of citizens tried to cross the border from Kosovo into Albania but were faced with resistance by police forces claiming that they didn’t meet anti-COVID obligations.

Protestors argued that there is no way for them to provide proof of having taken all 3 shots, as the time one needs to wait, from one dose to the other, is at least a couple of months.

In addition, they said that it is currently impossible for them to take a PCR test each week to cross the border, as the price for a single test is at least 35 000 ALL or around €30 euros.

From January 22 to February 4, citizens who wish to travel to Kosovo will have to provide their vaccine certificates showing that they took all 3 doses or a certificate that shows 2 doses accompanied by a negative PCR test.
