Ilir Meta made Edi Rama and Lulzim Basha responsible for the murder of 4 citizens during the infamous January 21 protest.‘Those citizens were killed by Rama and Basha,” – he said.

Meta said that he had received prior information by some friends ‘overseas’ about a planned attack that would result in murder, on January 21.

In addition, he claimed that it was this news that urged him to resign a few days before the protest.

“I hadn’t planned to resign, because I never thought things would unravel as they did. When I was appearing in a live interview with Blendi Fevziu, I said I didn’t intend to resign. In the morning, I got a phone call. Some old friends and some new ones broke the news. They told me: watch out, and think this through because they’re planning several murders during this protest. You shouldn’t be in office, otherwise, they’ll blame it on you,” – said Meta.

After receiving this information, Meta said that he informed Berisha that Rama and Basha were planning to kill people during this protest.

“I went to Berisha and told him that we should ask the prosecution to follow this through because they’re planning to kill people during the protest,’ – said Meta.

In addition, Meta said that after receiving this information he notified SMI, Basha, the police, the secret services, and they had told him that all necessary measures had been taken.

Meta asserted that the prime minister isn’t the one responsible to protect the PM’s Office, as that is a responsibility of the minister of the interior – at the time Berisha was prime minister and Basha was minister of internal affairs.

“I’m simply telling you that they were very interested in having whatever happened happen,” – argued Meta.
