The nation of Kosovo is concerned that president Vladimir Putin will try to transfer the war to the Western Balkans in order to turn it into a battlefield between him and western democracies, said Kosovo’s PM Ablin Kurti in an interview for Sky News.
In addition, he said that Putin could do this “through his main ally in the region, Serbia”.
The head of state asked European countries to accept Kosovo into the European Union and NATO because according to him, this move would contribute to peace, stability, and security in the region.
“We want to join the EU and NATO. NATO is already here but if we were to be accepted, it would be better for the nation of Kosovo and the entire region and the European continent in general,” – said Kurti.
