“I invite you to remain calm and don’t panic, as there will be no shortage of flour and its by-products in Albanian markets”.
This is what the Director-General of Agricultural Policies, Food Security and Rural Development Irfan Tarelli said during his interview on Euronews Albania that there’s no reason for Albanians to panic over our future supply of flour and bread.
When asked by Euronews Albania’s reporter Ermelinda Ndoja about the measures put in place as a safety net for businesses and citizens, Tarelli said that officials are currently focused on studying the market and collecting as much information as possible from partner states.
“Since the beginning of tensions between Russia and Ukraine, we heightened our attention by first focusing on identifying the current state of our markets and imports, as well as recommending our importers to increase their incoming supply,” – he said.
“The second measure was keeping in constant contact with partner states in order to make sure that we have all the necessary information and cooperation when it comes to influencing and informing our market operators on potential clients where they can continue getting their supplies from,” – said the director-general of agricultural policies.
