Construction for the Skavica HEC project has been delayed.
This is what former Fierza HEC (Hydroelectric power plant) director Luigj Pjetri said during an interview for Euronews Albania.
Pjetri also said that seeing that our country has experienced very little rainfall this year, the water level at the Fierza Lake is now around 260 meters, which is relatively low, especially since the minimal quota ranges from 240-242 meters.
The 240-meter quota is critical, said Pjetri, adding that “Fierza never dies”.
According to Pjetri, the energy distribution network at the Fierza HEC is still far from European standards with an average deficit of 20%, when in the EU, it never tops 5%, adding that the situation has, in any case, started to see some improvement.
