This Friday, Berisha’s DP faction – known as the Re-Foundation Commission – reconvened at the Democratic Party’s headquarters to conduct a second meeting in a single day.

Former PM Sali Berisha was also present during this meeting and was received through standing ovations by his supporters, who had gathered in one of the party’s conferences rooms.

The meeting only lasted a few minutes and was conducted behind closed doors.

DP’s headquarters are now open to all, following their armoring by former DP chair Lulzim Basha back in January, which led to a massive protest led by former PM Sali Berisha that led to a full-fledged clash between Democrats trying to get in and those claiming to protect it from the inside.

Euronews Albania reporter Elona Gjylmi learned that one of the first decisions made during today’s meetings was to take down the armored doors and fences that had been installed all over the party’s HQ.

Party officials have also claimed that they’ll start a thorough restoration process of the entire building, its office spaces, and outer façade, which will be followed by a reinstatement of daily activities, starting from tomorrow.
