Foreign citizens living in Albania that have made valuable contributions in specific areas will be granted Albanian citizenship.
The decision was announced on Wednesday by Interior Minister Bledi Cuci, after a cabinet meeting.
Minister Cuci noted that the main areas targeted are education, science, and sports.
He clarified that the decision comes as a supplement to the current law on citizenship, which defines the new criteria for granting Albanian citizenship to these persons as soon as possible.
