PM Rama met German chancellor Olaf Scholz after which he told the press that he had noticed a willingness to bring Albania’s EU integration process forward.

In addition, he said that Albania’s decoupling from North Macedonia is expected to take place during the month of June.

“To us, the integration process doesn’t imply us going to Europe, but rather to build an Albania with EU standards that works for the future and this is something we owe to no one else but our own children,” – said Rama.

PM Rama also said that he was 100% in line with the German chancellor as it pertains to the Russian aggression in Ukraine.

“We are calling for an immediate ceasefire and an actual round of negotiations,” – said Rama.

Meanwhile, he emphasized that the Open Balkan initiative is meant to be seen as an effort to bring to life the Berlin Process.
