The Democratic Party parliamentary group has convened in a meeting at DP’s main headquarter today.

Former PM Sali Berisha was also present at this meeting. This would be the second time Berisha participates in a party meeting since his suspension and expulsion from the party structures.

A total of 39 Democratic MPs are participating in the meeting, amongst them Luan Baci, Edmond Spaho and Flamur Noka, who was also expelled by former chair Lulzim Basha.

The rift in the Democratic Party is still underway, as the Refoundation Commission continues the process of reelecting the party’s district leaders.

This process has been opposed by supporters of Basha, because according to them, it would be a one-sided decision.

On March 24, Tirana’s District Court accepted the legitimacy of DP’s National Assembly held on December 11, by former PM Berisha.
