Tirana’s Special Prosecution is asking for a 24-year prison sentence for Klement Cala and 19 years each for the other 7 suspects involved in the Rinas robbery.

The 7 above-mentioned suspects are Eldi Cala, Oltjan Veseli, Renaldo Sula, Saimir Cela, Elton Pikli, Talo Çela and Alkond Bengasi.

They are being accused of accessory to an armed robbery through a criminal group on April 9, 2019, which involved the theft of more than 10 million euros at the Rinas airport.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway to find the stolen money. Prosecutors have stated that they have no leads as far as where this money could have been hidden.

During the Rinas robbery, Admir Murataj was killed. He is thought to be the brain behind the mega-robbery which was able to find loopholes in the airport security system that allowed them to get a hold of such a large sum of money.
