Kosovo received a low score in terms of punishing corruption and freedom of speech, in the latest report compiled by the US Department of State.

Analysts and the country’s opposition raised the alarm over government meddling in the justice system and the fragile war against corruption.

Apart from high-level corruption and impunity, the report also criticized media freedom, including cases where journalists were intimidated or even threatened.

DOS criticized North Macedonia for the behavior of jail guards and the bad conditions where prisoners are kept.

Also, the country was criticized for attacks and threats on journalists.
