Head of the economics and social studies Ilir Gedeshi said that on a regional level, Albania ranks first when it comes to students leaving the country.

During an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that the main reason for these departures is the low quality of our education system. According to Gedeshi, this has a positive aspect to it as well, because it means that many of our students get to study abroad in the best foreign universities, but studies show that as much as 93% of them don’t wish to come back after graduating.

Another reason for these partings according to the expert is the extensive job market that students are able to find in Europe.

“Here in Albania, there’s a clear issue for those who wish to complete their studies here because there is an inconsistency with the job market,” – said Gedeshi.

Meanwhile, the most coveted European country by Albanian students recently is Germany.
