Former Democratic MP, Rudina Hajdari, is getting ready to make a comeback in Albania politics after leaving back in 2018 when she didn’t agree to relinquish her mandate like the majority of opposition MPs.

During a press statement from DP’s headquarters, Hajdari said that DP is in dire need of being led by an entirely new team, which could also include Sali Berisha.

“I believe that now is the time for the Democratic Party to choose a new offer, with a new grouping. Mr. Berisha could be part of this group, but maybe not hold a leadership role,” – said Rudina Hajdari, former Democratic MP.

According to her, Berisha’s relations with the US shouldn’t have anything to do with the Democratic Party.

“Mr. Berisha’s issues with the United States is a problem he should definitely resolve but it should be separate from the Democratic Party,” – said Hajdari.

Hajdari’s statements come at a time when DP is going through a series of crises.

The Refoundation Commission – led by Sali Berisha – is carrying on with a reorganization plan, while also holding the elections for the new district leaders, whereas, the head of DP’s parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has said that they won’t back down from appealing the legitimacy of the statute that was voted in on December 11.
