Analyst Baton Haxhiu says former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is seeking to destabilize Albania.

Haxhiu said that Berisha wants to instill a major political crisis.

According to him, Berisha will negotiate with President Ilir Meta to overthrow Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“Berisha is aware that a major crisis could erupt only if he takes over the DP’s leadership, and Meta that of the SP. Berisha likes having power against Rama and there will be negotiations with Meta to make the situation harder for the government,” he said.

Analyst Andi Bushati says that Berisha is obliged to behave like the chairman of the Democratic Party, even though leadership elections have yet to take place.

According to Bushati, Berisha is facing several opponents starting from PM Edi Rama, the United States, and a hostile faction within his own party.
