Former PM Sali Berisha tried to cut the line and speak before his turn during this Thursday’s plenum.
Berisha did this after PM Edi Rama called him a ‘dead man’ and said that he will cut all ties with the Democratic Party if they choose Berisha as their party leader.
However, after Rama ended his word, it was DP’s parliamentary group leader, Enkelejd Alibeaj’s turn to speak and that is when Berisha tried to skip his turn.
The former PM was able to take away his microphone but Parliament Speaker Lindita Nikolla took away his right to speak and imposed a disciplinary measure against him, forcing Berisha to step away from the plenum to give a press statement outside.
Berisha told the press that his goal is to overthrow Rama, while thanking him for his last statement, which according to the former PM, only goes to show that Rama is absolutely scared of the opposition.
“In regards to his statement on cutting ties, it’s an absolute honor for us because our goal is to overthrow him as soon as possible,” -said Berisha.
“I thank him for this stance because it only confirms that the true opposition has terrified him. He is terrified of the true opposition,” – said Berisha.
