Since 2015, the number of aborts in Albania has marked a decline each year.
Representative from the chronic disease sector at the IShP, Dorina Toci, said that the same trend can be seen for spontaneous aborts as well as requested ones.
Toci said that this has come as a result of women’s raised awareness when it comes to planned parenthood.
Head of UNFPA Albania, Manuela Bello, said that this year’s chosen topic is to “look at the invisible”, dedicated to unplanned pregnancies.
A study conducted by UNFPA shows that there’s also a decline in our country when it comes to the use of contraceptives.
