Employees of Tirana’s Water Supplier will be going to work with electric bicycles.

Around €80 thousand euros will be extracted from the state budget to pay for this project.

The motive behind this decision was the wide distance needed to be covered by UKT employees working on the ground.

This is why, UKT directors saw it fit that their employees conduct their work off the main premises through an e-bike, which according to them, is the most efficient way for them to travel around more remote areas in the capital city.

Based on an online search, these bicycles range from €500 to €1 000 euros each.

UKT officials have reported that these bicycles will be used for other functions as well, like carrying the employee’s personal possessions, which will bring up their cost to at least €1 000 euros each.

The decision to add these electric bicycles to UKT’s fund comes at a time when our country is still going through a price crisis spurred by rising global oil prices and the war in Ukraine.
