The government adopted on Friday a decision that will reduce the number of civil status offices, with only 150 to stay open across the country.

Interior Minister Bledi Cuci explained that the reason behind this decision is to take government services online.

Çuçi said that based on this decision, all administrative institutions are obliged to provide civil status documents for services provided to citizens.

“There will only be 150 offices in Albania, only for services where physical presence is actually mandatory”, said Cuci.
