The number of entries and departures from our south-eastern border has gone up considerably this Sunday.

Official sources announce that in the last 24 hours, a total of 5432 citizens have entered or departed from the Kapshtica border crossing.

Meanwhile, the number of entries and departures from the Qafe-Thane border crossing is also reported to have gone up to 6930 citizens.

According to Border Police, the increase in the number of entries and departures from neighboring Greece and North Macedonia has come as a result of the waiver of all anti-COVID restrictions by our Ministry of Health – a decision which was also confirmed by our Committee of Experts last week.

In order to be able to face the influx of travelers entering from the border crossings of Kapshtica and Qafe Thane, authorities have suggested that more counters need to be added at these checkpoints.
