Albania has lost 20 spots in this year’s annual Press Freedom Index published on May 3, which is World Press Freedom Day.
The latest report published by the organization ‘Reporters Without Brooders’ has ranked our country 103rd out of 180 countries – with North Korea being last.
Albania was also part of the list of countries where state authorities have intensified the laws against journalists.
This year’s index ranked Kosovo 61st, taking it up 17 spots since last year’s 2021 report.
Countries like North Macedonia, Serbia, and Montenegro have also improved on their ranking whereas Nordic countries like Norway, Denmark, and Sweden were respectively 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on the list – followed by Estonia, Finland, and Ireland wrapping up the top 6.
