“Today, Russia is attacking us, but tomorrow it could be your turn”, said on Tuesday the Honorary Consul of Albania in Kharkiv, Shahin Omarov in an interview on Euronews Albania.
In regards to what President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked the Albanian Parliament, which is refusing Russian tourists, Omarov said that profits earned from doing any form of trade with Russia stem from the blood of the Ukrainian people.
That is why he says, Albania must pick a clear side, either side with Russia, or any other choice whatsoever.
“It must be understood that every cent, every dollar earned from this trade stems from the blood of Ukrainians. That is why you need to make a choice. Either support Russia and feed its war machinery, or whatever else you want. They are fighting us today, but tomorrow it could be your turn”, said the honorary consul.
He also pointed on Tuesday to some of the areas where Russian forces are combatting against Ukrainian ones.
Omarov says fights are still being reported in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa.
According to him, Russian forces are unsparingly bombing Odessa’s southern port.
“Today military activities are mainly focused in the Kharkiv region, which is on the border with Donbas, Luhansk, Donetsk”, he said. “In Odessa, they aren’t conducting military activities but straight air raids”.
Omarov also said that Kyiv is now safer, and asserted that Ukrainians will soon return to their homes.
