Over 13,000 employed people in North Macedonia did not receive their minimum wage of €290 in March, despite working full hours.
A majority come from the private sector, but reportedly the state also didn’t pay the amount due to some 2,000 of its employees.
Euronews Albania correspondent in Skopje, Ferikan Iljazi says that the most affected were transport and small business workers.
In addition, in the hairdressing sector, there is a significant number of workers who claim to have not received their paycheck.
North Macedonia’s Directorate of Public Revenue warned on Wednesday to take measures and fine employers who do not pay their workers.
