Albania and Bulgaria are looking at tightening up the bond and increasing tourism opportunities.
From April 2, Tirana and Sofia established a direct line of flights through the Gullivar company.
Tourist operators from both countries are now meeting to discuss further reciprocal tourist packages.
Meetings have been organized by Tirana’s International Airport.
“It’s time for us to have direct flights Tirana-Sofia like we used to in the past. We should also be able to offer them 3 times a week. The days when people had to take their car or have to go through transit are long gone,” – said Constantin von Alvensleben, executive chief at TIA.
In the 90s, Bulgaria was one of Albania’s main strategic partners. Despite the fact that the pandemic forced the sector to go through a long pause, the number of Bulgarian tourists coming to our country has been on the rise.
The same can be said for Albanian tourists who are mainly choosing to go on short 3-day vacations to Bulgaria.
