Democratic MP Edi Paloka has been appointed as the new leader of DP’s National Council.

Paloka received a total of 132 votes, in comparison to the 79 received by the other candidate, Elena Qirici – a former MP of the Democratic Party for the county of Korca.

Voting took place this Friday at DP’s headquarters.

A total of 211 members of the National Council cast their vote in this process.

Paloka has been head of this party body before. He was elected head of the National Council after the Assembly held on July 17, 2021.

Paloka distanced himself from this role on December 11, 2021 when he participated in the extraordinary Assembly called by former PM Sali Berisha.
