Around 30 employees from the Fier incinerator have gathered in a protest this Monday, claiming that they haven’t received a paycheck in 4 months, whilst for more than a 1 month now, the incinerator is under the administration of the state.

When the incinerator was under private administration, employees claim that they didn’t receive 3 of their paychecks, and the state owes them a month’s worth of salary.

The incinerator is now under the administration of the office of confiscated property, which is managed by Farudin Arapi.

“It’s been 5 months that I don’t get paid. We don’t expect the government to come here. Rama has made everything online. We want our money!,” – said one of the protestors.

Workers admit that they’ve had to go into debt, which is why they’ve blocked the doors to the incinerators today, by obstructing the process of depositing the waste.

“We have written a contract. It’s been since January that we haven’t received our wages for 2022,” – said a worker.
