“In regards to the accident, I was driving at a speed of 40 km/hour. Just as the lights turned red, I started to break but they didn’t work.”

This was the testimony made by Ajas Sulejmani, 39, after hitting a young couple and their baby while they were crossing the road, two days ago in the capital city.

“I declare that in regards to my leaving the scene of the accident, that I didn’t intend to leave but seeing that my young daughter, who is a minor, was with me at the time, I found it more reasonable to leave. Together with my 5-year-old daughter, I went to the hospital, because my daughter had been traumatized from this accident,” – he added.

The serious accident took place during Sunday afternoon at St. Kavaja, as a couple with their 3-month child were crossing the road.

As other cars had stopped after the lights had turned red, the Mercedes Benz G-Class, driven by Ajas Sulejamani, is seen coming at a high speed and hitting the couple.

The 39-year-old immediately left the scene of the incident and was arrested by cops a few hours later.
