Several MPs from the Democratic Party who have sided with Sali Berisha, along with several MPs from SMI (Socialist Movement for Integration), have called for a substantive motion to be held next week in Parliament.
The reason for this was PM Edi Rama’s recent statements during his visit to Brussels a day ago.
During this official visit Rama said that if we continue to see no improvements and the same situation continues to play out without any positive signals in sight, by June, Albania will change its stance and demand to be decoupled from North Macedonia as part of its EU integration process.
These MPs are asking for there to be an extraordinary session this upcoming Monday, during which they can discuss issues that surround the European integration process.
