This Saturday, the Special Appeals Court against Corruption and Organized Crime will hold a hearing to review an appeal presented by former Socialist MP Alqi Bllako in regards to his arrest.
This case will be reviewed by Judge Iliriana Olldashi.
The former MP was arrested following a SPAK order on April 1, after he gave up on his term as member of parliament that granted him some legal protection.
According to SPAK, Bllako is suspected of abuse of office and corruption involving the Fier incinerator.
Based on the preliminary investigation, SPAK accuses Bllako, who at the time was Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and later the Director of the National Water Supply Agency, of having favoured the concessionary firm Integrated Technology Waste Treatment in Fier, in exchange for around 15 million ALL.
