The head of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group Taulant Balla accused the Democratic Party of ‘anti-Americanism’, in light of the re-election of Sali Berisha.
“You’ve turned anti-Americanism into a doctrine and there is no cure for that”, Balla said.
According to Balla, yesterday’s leadership race was a ‘victory against the United States’, after it had publicly designated Berisha persona non-grata.
Sali Berisha won DP’s internal elections on Sunday, after stepping down 9 years ago.
Berisha won by a landslide securing 93.45% of the votes, against the other candidate Ibsen Elezi.
