28 Italian and Dutch police officers have been deployed in Tirana for the European UEFA Conference League.
This was confirmed by the head of the Public Security Department, Rebani Jaupaj in an interview for Euronews Albania.
“In order to keep this category of fans under control in Tirana, a total of 14 Italian officers and 14 Dutch officers, who have been trained for similar situations will assist us in managing the situation during the final,” – he said.
Jaupaj said that around 2800 officers will be on the ground on the day of the match.
“We’ve mobilized our forces from early this morning. Based on confidential information, each team has about 400-500 hooligans or what are known as problematic fans,” – he said.
Traffic restrictions will begin at 08:00 am until 00:00, when the matcha and celebratory events will have ended.
