60% of salaries under €417, the lowest in agriculture and construction

More than half of Albanian employees are paid less than the average wage which is €475 euros or 57 000 ALL.

The lowest wages are registered in the agriculture sector, whereas the highest is in the banking and telecommunication sectors.

Less than 10% of Albanian workers make more than 100 thousand ALL or €833.33 euros, whereas more than 50% are paid €475 euros or less.

In 2021, the average wage went up by 6.6%, reaching 57,200 ALL or €476.67 euros.

Managers, legislators, and high public administration officials are among the best-paid workers whereas the worst paid are those employed in the agriculture sector.

INSTAT also reported that the highest salary raises were made by employees in the trading and industry sectors.

Last year, the gender gap in terms of salaries was 4.5%, meaning that on average, men made 4.5% more money than women.
