5 religious communities which have an agreement with the Albanian government have faced issues in regards to the return of the property confiscated to them by the communist regime.

This was confirmed by the US Department of State report on religious freedom in our country.

The religious communities in Albania confirm that less than 30% of the property they’re entitled to has actually been returned to them.

“70% of our property has yet to be taken into consideration,” – said Dorian Dementja, head of culture at the Muslim Community.

In addition, theologian Thoma Comeni, said during his interview for Euronews Albania that the value of the properties belonging to the church isn’t just financial but it’s also spiritual.

“The properties of the Orthodox Church of Albania have a monetary value but also a spiritual one” – said Comeni.
