Analyst Andi Bushati said during tonight’s ‘Shock’ on Euronews Albania that the news shared by PM Edi Rama that Montenegro has joined the Open Balkan initiative isn’t true.
For this to happen, said that analyst, there first needs to be a vote in the Montenegrin Parliament.
According to Bushati, the news for the expansion of Open Balkan is being spread by Rama in order to cover up what was confirmed by the Russian foreign minister that this is Serbia’s initiative that has the support of Russia.
“Russia’s foreign minister admitted to the fact that this is Vucic’s initiative which is supported by Moscow in disagreement with Brussels, which according to Russia wants these countries to be in a ‘Closed Balkan’ instead. We’ve received confirmation that Open Balkan is a strictly Serbian interest that also interests Russia. For Russia it’s better for the Balkans to be controlled by Serbia rather than Paris or Berlin,” – said Bushati.
