Albania has received the first batch of monkeypox test kits in order to track and trace potential infections.
Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu visited on Monday the lab that will conduct the tests in Albania.
The European Center for Disease Control has categorized Albania among low-risk countries, whereas many European countries are now under alert following a surge of 1,700 cases across 29 states.
Minister Manastirliu also spoke about the current COVID situation in the country in face of an upward trend of daily new infections.
“Mobile units are doing a great job across the country by going door to door to offer vaccinations and reaching out to those people who haven’t received the third jab”.
Manastirliu said a fourth booster dose has now been approved by health authorities.
