The High Prosecutorial Council is directly affected by the new judicial map as 9 regional prosecution offices, as well as 5 appeals, might potentially face closure.
Euronews Albania journalist Eni Ferhati said today’s meeting commenced amid serious discussions, with one of the members even going on to say that the new map favors Tirana.
“It seems as if the map was put up in a hurry”, said Tartar Bazaj . “Tirana is not the entire society. This map brings added costs to citizens, too”.
For over a week, lawyers across the country have boycotted courts to defy the new judicial map.
The High Judicial Council has proposed having 13 first instance courts, 12 administrative courts, and 1 appeal court in the entire country.
