The Assembly reiterated Albania’s stance that genocide denial in Srebrenica by Serb forces in Bosnia is a breach of international law.
In addition, the parliament noted that genocide denial compels impunity of war crimes and dishonors the dignity of over 8,000 civilians murdered in the massacre, survivors as well as their families, but also in confront to the ethnic cleansing of around 10,000 Kosovo Albanians and 20,000 women assaulted by the Serb forces.
A special plenum will convene on July 7 for a resolution that will be voted by MPs.
The floor leader of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, has said that they are compiling a serious draft to present to parliament.
Families of the victims of Srebrenica and political figures have also been invited to attend the plenary session.
