Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj said on Thursday that the opposition has lied to the people when claiming the price of oil in Albania is the highest in Europe.
During his address to the parliament, Ahmetaj asserted that although the price is high, there are many other states in Europe where oil is purchased for more.
“You say that the price of oil in Albania is the highest. Obviously, it is high, but not the highest”.
“There are many countries in Europe where the price of oil is higher, so stop telling lies to citizens. You’ve even lost those that you once thought you were representing, oligarchs”, he said.
Whereas Finance Minister Delina Ibrahimaj said the Board of Transparency has kept prices in control.
