Shaip Kamberi has reacted after winning a mandate as MP after the Thursday elections that took place in the Greater Ternoc village in Bujanoc.

He will now officially be the only  Albanian representative in the Serbian Parliament.

Through a post on his social media page, Kamberi argued that even during these turbulent times for regional politics, accentuated by the many preventive actions constantly undertaken by those in power, Albanians weren’t left without representation in the Serbian parliament.

According to him, this great victory was only achieved thanks to the willpower of Albanians living in the Preshevo Valley as well as the dedicated work of activists and supporters.

Kamberi pledged to defend the interests of ethnic Albanians in the region as according to him, they are under constant fear of having to face systematic forms of oppression combined with regular acts of open discrimination.

The newly elected MP was able to pass the threshold and win 698 votes out of the total 711 present in the Serbian Parliament.
