Housing prices went up by 60% in the last decade in Albania.

This rate was higher than that of European Union countries, where the rise was only 45%.

In 2013, a house in Tirana cost around 62000 euros whereas today, that same house sells for at least 100 thousand euros.

The value has gone up by around 60% in only 10 years, whereas construction has turned into the most important sector contributing to economic growth in our country.

Data was derived from the Fischer Index of the Bank of Albania which is one of the official markers used to calculate changes in our real estate market.

Private property makes up around 80% of accumulated wealth for Albanian families.

The rise in prices in recent years has mainly influenced property in central areas in the capital city as well as coastal areas.

In the European Union, countries like Hungary, Estonia and Luxembourg saw a rise in property prices of up to 130% whereas in Italy, Greece and Cyprus, property prices actually lost value.
