The American Chamber of Commerce in Albania has come out against the proposed fiscal amnesty recently announced by the Albanian government.

According to her, this initiative doesn’t guarantee that individuals involved in serious criminal activities like drugs, human trafficking, and money laundering can be excluded from this amnesty.

In addition, the implementation of this amnesty would only lead to dishonest competition, by favoring individuals who have dealt with prior illegal activities.

In the same line with the European Union, the AmCham in Albania is recommending a complete withdrawal from such an initiative.
