EU’s Chief of Foreign Policies, Josep Borrell declared during the First Intergovernmental Conference between Albania and the EU that the EU needs Albania in order to complete the entire necessary framework.

In addition, he emphasized that the EU and Albania are stronger together.

“The Albanian government was targeted by a major cyber attack recently. We took action in order to face this risk in the entire Western Balkans with our partners, especially those who are closest to us when it comes to foreign policies. Albania has been a moderating voice in a complex region, by also helping in the dialogue between Belgrade and Kosovo. It has given an example of good neighborhood, and this role too will be an important one, as we continue on our path towards EU integration. We need Albania in order to complete the entire EU framework. We need each other so we can be stronger,” – he said during his remarks in Brussels.
