In the first 6 months of 2022, air traffic in Albania has grown beyond all expectations.

There are 44% more travelers who have entered and exited Albania through Rinas airport compared to 2019, which before the outbreak of the pandemic was considered the most successful year in Albanian civil aviation.

Among the airports that serve as gateways for tourist destinations, Tirana ranks second at the European level, leaving behind all the airports in Greece.

According to data from Rinas Airport, the number of passengers was over 600,000 during the month of July alone.

The expectations are that the number of citizens who will enter and leave Albania through the Rinas international airport will be around 5 million, almost 1.7 million more than in 2019.

Rinas is also ranked among the airports with the best performance in terms of the number of canceled flights, although the situation across Europe has been very difficult for almost all airports.

These increases in the performance of the Rinas airport are expected to go even further thanks to the investments that have been made with the opening of the new terminal, which will serve for the entry of travelers, while the existing building will be used only for the exit from Albania.
