The Head of Organization at the Democratic Party, Klevis Balliu, says that the hierarchy in the State Police has been destroyed.
Referring to the fatal incident in Himara, where Arjan Tase hit a 7-year-old girl to death in Potam in Himara, Balliu emphasized that the salary of a policeman is not enough to close the month, let alone to buy a boat worth thousands of euros.
“It is not a question of our seas; it is a question of the destruction of the hierarchy of our State Police. The person in question is a defendant, suffering allegations due to his connections with the drug trafficking world. How is it possible that some police officers do not have enough money to close the month, while others have motorboats ranging from 30 and 50 thousand euros?
These boats are mainly used for drug trafficking. A policeman does not have the means to buy that type of boat”, he declared in an interview for “Euronews Albania”.
A serious incident happened at noon on Tuesday at the beach of Potami in Himare, where a minor was hit to death while swimming on the shore, by a boat which was driven by Arjan Tase.
Tase held the position of Head of the Community Policing Section at the Elbasan Police Station and after the event, he was dismissed by the General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano.
He has been charged with manslaughter and it is expected that in the next 48 hours the verdict against him will be announced by the court of Vlora.
