The Secretary-General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, will hold separate meetings in Brussels on August 17 with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
According to the press release posted by the NATO military alliance, Stoltenberg will first meet with Vucic and then with Kurt.
After each separate meeting, media conferences will also take place.
These meetings will be held just one day before the new round of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, which is mediated by the European Union.
EU High Representative Josep Borrell’s invitation to Kurt and Vucic came at a time of heightened tensions in northern Kosovo, as local Serbs set up barricades to protest two government decisions related to Serbian documents and license plates.
The barricades were removed on the afternoon of August 1, and Prime Minister Kurti vowed to postpone the implementation of these two decisions for a month.
